At the peak of its time, Rome was considered the centre of the earth. Rome exported many goods, and also imported many foreign items from other countries. The city of Rome itself was a bustling place to be, with market vendors, stores and businesses selling their goods. Nearly everything could be found somewhere in Rome, from the basics for everyday living, to exotics such as oils, perfumes and spices from the East.

Vegetable Baskets
Cloned from the vegetable cart, so your sims should be able to buy lettuces, carrots, and beans at town at the marketplace. Food is contained in sturdy wicker baskets.
|
|
Flower and Herb Stand
Now your Roman sims can pick and choose flowers from this modest street stand. (Note, only red and yellow roses buyable). The stand contains terracotta pots with exotic plants for your peristylium, as well as freshly cut flowers and herbs to decorate the villa.

Cushion Stall
A little cart with a rack full of large colourful cushions, and smaller cushions in the tray. This is cloned from the swimwear rack, so heh, your sims can buy swimwear ;-) Yes, I know, doesn't have much to do with cushions :P

Statue of Concord
Seer Summoner, disguised as a statue of Concord, goddess of harmony. Original base by Turbo, created by RuthML. Visit her site for more goodies at Bag of Tricks. Spawns in the fortune teller Palm Reader from Unleashed.
.skn, .bmp, .cmx skin files should go to Gamedata/Skins, .iff files go to Downloads/(optional subfolder).

|
Meat Stall
Cloned from the hot dog cart, your sims can now buy hot dogs without the modern day looking cart sticking out of place. I have changed the NPCs to Roman sims too. Please install as follows:-
- All .cmx files to /gamedata/skins
- All .skn files to /gamedata/skins
- All .bmp files to /gamedata/skins
- All .far files to /downloads
If you don't like the skins I used, and know how to use SimWardrobe's NPC Replacer, you can easily change the skins by extracting the .iff files from the .far files using Farout (also by SimWardrobe).
NB. You may want to turn off shadows, as there is a shadow cast by the umbrella which is no longer there.

Vegetable Stall
Cloned from the Unleashed vegetable cart, and rendered in a darker wood with the cardboard boxes underneath removed. Romans would have had a lot of fruit and vegetables in their diets, as they did not eat much meat.
New! RuthML made the veggie cart generate an NPC, also with new dialogue! Download here! .skn, .bmp, .cmx skin files should go to Gamedata/Skins, .iff files go to Downloads/(optional subfolder), the Accessories folder MUST go to ExpansionPack5 (Unleashed required of course).

Counter Top Seeds
I don't know how Roman this is, though it does look much more primitive than the original plastic rack from Unleashed. This seed box consists of two trays, a smaller one sitting on top of a larger one, and is made for your farmer sims that may need to buy them.

Fruit Table
Inspired by Godward's painting The Fruit Vendor, this fruit table carries watermelon, peaches, and pears for the fruit vendor. Unfortunately, it only serves as little more than a decorative piece. Could be placed on the streets, but also in the culina, for slaves preparing fruit or fruit dishes.
|
|
Baskets of Fruit and Vegetables
These three wicker baskets can essentially be also used in the culina. Contains vegetables and fruit, and could be placed on the street in a marketplace. (It does not sell anything however, as it is also cloned from a vase).
|
|
Flour Sacks
Three medium sized sacks, which carry flour. Useful for around the mill or bakery. Made of rough materials, which explains its rough, cross-hatched look. Cloned from the vase, decorative only.
|
|
Flour Mill
A solid stone construction with a wooden frame with handles, to grind wheat into flour (though I haven't exactly figured out how that works). Is sure to last for thousands of years. As this object is wider than its square, there is bleeding where the handles are. The best way to avoid seeing this is to simply not put it next to a wall (which would make it impractical for use anyway). Cloned from a vase.
